Fundraiser Invitations
A fundraiser invitation for Bang on a Can’s 2019 benefit became the basis for a flexible event-communications system that was repeated for two subsequent annual fundraisers.
The original concept drew from The Mile-Long Opera, created by architect and artist Elizabeth Diller and staged along New York’s High Line with 1,000 singers positioned throughout the public space. The invitation translated the project’s sense of movement and unfolding experience into an animated email banner and an iron-cross print piece that revealed information as it opened.
The format proved successful enough to be adapted for later events honoring Paula Cooper and the Birth of a Musical Revolution, and Francisco J. Núñez and the Young People’s Chorus, allowing each invitation to maintain its own visual character within a recognizable structure.
