Design for Marketing Communications
A long-term design partnership with New York architectural firm Butler Rogers Baskett began with the firm’s identity and expanded over more than 13 years into a broad system of marketing and communications materials.
With a diverse architectural practice that included the redevelopment of Chelsea Piers and the renovation of Cartier’s historic Fifth Avenue flagship, BRB brought a strong appreciation for design to its own visual communications.
The firm’s willingness to experiment made many of the pieces opportunities to explore format and production as part of the concept — incorporating techniques including die-cutting, blind embossing, perforation, gumming and unusual folding and binding structures.
Applications included identity, stationery, capabilities literature, website, newsletters, announcements, promotional materials and holiday communications.

BRB Holiday Cards
Butler Rogers Baskett maintained a long-standing tradition of creating an annual holiday card featuring the entire firm. Each year began with an art-directed staff photo and a new concept, with only two constants: the card needed to be non-denominational and everyone had to be represented.
Founding partner Charles Baskett encouraged a different approach each year, making the series an ongoing opportunity to experiment with concept, format and production. The resulting cards incorporated techniques ranging from custom photography and illustration to die-cutting, perforation, specialty folds and other unconventional print treatments.
